I am listening to it as I write this and it's taking me on trips back and forward in time... Back to my earliest memories of sneaking my little transistor radio in bed with me so I could catch the midnight radio show that played Planet Patrol and the Egyptian Lover, the radio plastered to my ear so Mom wouldn't hear...the seeds of my affinity for "men of color" were planted, unstoppable...then Mom died and I discovered Kraftwerk and clubbing underage...ooyeah.. then while all this is going on, the music is reviving the delighted enchantment this suburban girl felt upon her first exposure to gay/drag culture and fashion.. not an easy feat due to years of life experience! Old Divine records...the free feeling of being the only girl at a jampacked afterhours party, dancing my ASS off, unworried, free..... Then future forward to my new life I envision happenening as I listen...new lovers....art...adventures and joy. To make it short this cd is FUCKING BRILLIANT. You are officially Legendary.
