The House of Diabolique

Join us as we thrust into house music...

As promised I will now entertain you with the email exchange I had with Victoria Jackson, Saturday Night Live star of the late 80's.

It all began when I visited her webpage and innocently signed her guestbook.  This is what I wrote:

i am a drag queen, and you were always my favorite cast member of SNL. i read with surprise on this webpage that you are a christian. however, i hold no judgements against those with different religious beliefs than me. i just wonder if you, who's talent i admire so much, would think i were going to hell because i am gay and according to the Bible, live in sin. this would make me extremely sad and negate the affection i have for your comedic talents.

To my shock and surprise, Victoria herself wrote back and said:

Diabolique:  I wrote you back but it went to my mail box.  Did you get my letter?  If not, here it is again:  Thanks for writing.   I don't judge you! That's a sin!  My two best friends are gay, by the way, and Christians.  There are only 3 references to gayness in the Bible as far as I know.  Our sins are between us and God individually.  Romans 3:23 says "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"...Romans 6:23 says, "the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord".  So all people are equal sinners and can receive forgiveness and eternal life through Jesus death on the cross, if we believe.(Ephesians 2:8,9).  I think homosexuality is a sin, because the Bible says so, but it also says gossiping is a sin.  My friend Alix is gay and just became a believer two years ago.  He goes to an all gay church in LA.  He's struggling with the gay issue.  I have a few sins I'm struggling with.  But we are forgiven.  That's the Good News.  Any more questions?   Thanks for writing to me.

Love, Victoria Jackson (Vicki)

Suddenly, inexplicably, my heart was filled with joy.  Could it be the power of Jesus?

I have no further comments on that bizarre email exchange except to say that I did respond once again to Victoria (Vicki), but I recevied no reply.  Perhaps my irrefutable logic crushed her beliefs.

I am weary from the new movie job I started last week.  Congratulations are in order.  We are shooting in New York until mid-Febuary, and then I am off to Toronto for a few months.  Any fans up north should immediately contact me about Canadian nightlife.  Hopefully that's not an oxymoron.

I have two classics for you this week.  Both are fierce vocals typical of the early 90s and I adore them immensely!

'Been A Long Time' by The Fog

and

'Movin On' by Roach Motel

Until next week, remember...
