Week of March 20 04

Well, I've had a rotten few weeks. I got very sick a few weeks ago, and at the same time I got concurrently slammed with two movie jobs, while still developing the ever-growing tv show. I want to do for house/techno music videos the same thing I've done for dance music, here.. which is to spotlight it and get it out there for everyone to see! And along the way, I can bitch about politics, pop culture, post-modernism and whatever else (Madonna), just like I do here on the world's 274,126th most popular website.

In lieu of my absence I'll now give you my mini-thoughts, or, to coin a new word, "thoughtlets" on a variety of issues:

Gay marriage:
What most people don't understand is that gays are not going to destroy the institution of marriage, but marriage is certainly going to destroy gay culture. The price of gay liberation, as I've always said, will be the homogenization of gay culture. Marriage is the last nail in the coffin of radical gay behavior. For this reason, conservatives ought to be for gay marriage and not against it.
It is possible to mourn the end of something without disputing the justification for it's loss. I'm for gay marriage, of course. But when gay children grow up in a world where gayness is normal and marriage is taken for granted, a whole mindset will die and become history. Say goodbye to camp.

The Passion of Christ
Anytime I make fun of Christians in front of liberals, I get laughs. Ha ha ha, yeah, they'll say. Christians are crazy. But if I make fun of Muslims - uhoh! Watch out. It seems Islam is the only religion liberals respect these days, even though crazy Muslims are crazier than crazy Christians, and there's a lot more of 'em
So it's no wonder that radical Christian freaks like Mel Gibson and his kin are getting uppity about this double standard.
If the Jews really did kill Christ, I say, thank you Jews.
Nothing will ever dissuade me of my belief that religion increases exponentially the sum of misery on Earth. That holds true whether there is or is not a God.

Nader
Nader is a mono-issue candidate who thinks that all of the world's troubles can be traced back to Big Evil Corporations. While big corporations can and do often suck, the issue is not nearly so simple, and frankly I think the world has bigger problems right now, i.e. the rise of extreme religious fundamentalism, and I don't just mean Bush or Mel Gibson.
Furthermore, Nader is all talk when it comes to queers. He hasn't done a shred of work for homos and avoids talking about gay issues because he doesn't like to go into (as he famously put it) "gonadal politics".
Nader's greatest idiocy was in saying that there was no difference between the Republicans and Democrats in 2000. Michael Moore joined him on that one. Right. Has anyone ever been proven so wrong?
Nader's statistically illiterate followers still deny that he cost Gore the election in 2000. There is no convincing these people because their inner guilt runs too high. "He wasn't the only reason" they'll plead. Yeah, he wasn't the only reason but he was a major reason, and a major reason that progressive & liberal voters had in their control ; especially in Florida, where if only 1% of Nader voters had voted for Gore, Gore would have won the election.
Anyone who votes for Nader is making a big mistake. I thought it then, and I think it now.

Madonna
In regards to Madonna's ridiculously named new tour, I can't speak my feelings better than my friend and avid HoD reader Leslie, who wrote:

Indeed not.. maybe M's dancers will be called the "Pop Icon Dancers"? Unless she reinvents herself out of this rabbi stage and begs for the world's forgiveness, having lapsed inexpicably into a cult for the last few years, I'm totally not interested her or this tour, which will probably just be used to recruit people into the Kabbalah Centre cult.

Watch for news that M's Kabbalah teachers told her to go on tour. I wouldn't be surprised, after all, they're the ones who told her to write those stupid children's books. They seem to control her every move. Maybe she needs to go on tour to make up for the millions of dollars she's already given to them. She bought a mansion for her Kabbalah teacher in LA and she's spending millions more on a Kabbalah Centre in London.

There is no difference between Mel GIbson or Madonna. They're both spoiled, brainwashed, God-whipped freaks.
